Foundation Awards $25,000 to Morningview Elementary

On Tuesday, January 13, 2009 The Montgomery Education Foundation held an award announcement in the amount of $24,889.00, to provide a full time Reading Coach along with new books and equipment at Morningview Elementary School. Funds are possible through the Mary L. Vann and Eugene C. Vann Fund of the Central Alabama Community Foundation and the Stuff the Shelves funds of the Montgomery Education Foundation.

MEF is pleased to provide these funds to promote the importance of reading and support for literacy among all students in Montgomery. We are glad to serve as a partner with Montgomery Public Schools and Morningview to increase the effectiveness of reading programs that will benefit fourth through sixth grade students at the school. We celebrate this award and continue our commitment to help children read and succeed for a bright future.
