Central Alabama Community Foundation: Home

About Us

The Central Alabama Community Foundation was established in 1987 by a group of local civic leaders.  Their vision was to create a permanent charitable foundation to support a myriad of opportunities and needs in the Montgomery area.  Since its founding, CACF has grown to hold over $34 million in charitable assets while distributing over $15 million to organizations that serve the community.

Through its 170+ funds, CACF addresses a wide variety of concerns, supporting projects and programs in education, health, human services, cultural arts, recreation, historic preservation and other civic concerns.  Each year, the Foundation distributes over $2.5 million through more than 400 grants and scholarships.

The Foundation oversees several affiliated funds designed to address specific areas.

BONDS – Building Our Neighborhoods for Development and Success – provides resources, networking opportunities and technical support to neighborhood organizations, strengthening the fabric of our community.

The Montgomery Education Foundation works with the Montgomery Public School System to identify and pilot researched-based programs that improve student achievement.

Bridge Builders® is a leadership development program for high school students that uses adventure education, community service and thoughtful discussion to break down barriers and teach leadership skills to tomorrow’s leaders.
